Ranchito Aurora
de la Manaña The word Aurora means "the dawn" or early light. It also means "theearly period of anything new." The name was chosen for the foundation to signify that it's time for something new a new way of living, being and doing that celebrates and embraces both environmental and cultural diversity for a more humane, peaceful and sustainable future. In Spanish, they say 'la aurora de la mañana' "the light of tomorrow." It seemed a fitting name for the Foundation's home in the beautiful Sonoran Desert just outside Tucson, Arizona. We invite you to visit and see for yourself just how alive the desert can be. (If you visit during June, just pack lots of sunscreen and plan on retreating from the mid-day sun!) We have a long way to go in order to make the Ranchito a useful place for gatherings, workshops and conversation events, but you can help! Below is our "wish list" for the immediate landscape/xeriscaping needs and our first priority of building a covered ramada for gatherings and workshops:
