Pat's Prayers: The Gift of Time When we give of ourselves to each other -- *for* each other -- we have given our greatest gift in the eyes of our Lord. For we are giving up time that each of us has been alotted only so much of. That is why money is the second greatest gif you can give up for each other. You can always acquire more money, but time stays constant. You must be willing to give for each other in a sacrificing way. We make a judgement call on our part when we say I am going to give an hour a week for a month and then feel as if we've given enough. Know we should make a lifetime commitment to helping each other. Christianity is filled with examples of those giving until the day they die. Mother Teresa gave of herself until the day she died... not for her glory, but for the glory of God. A saint needs no recognition for their deeds for themselves, but they want to be examples of giving up for each other so we can understand what sacrifice truly is. So give your money to God, but more importantly... give of yourselves, for this is your most prized possession.
